Love you, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day to the most wonderful and amazing mother that I know. Thank you for always being there for me and everything you do for me.  I could attempt to list them but I'd be here all day doing that. It always amazes me how one talk with you can make anything better.  I truly admire your passion for everything you do; you never cease to amaze me with the opportunities you undertake and succeed at.  I wish that I could be there with you today, and I hope you take it easy and enjoy your day!  I love you! and I promise I'll call you later =)

Love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Friday's Letters

Dear Orange Beach, I miss you!  I wish I was coming back to see you this weekend.  Oh and thanks for the beautiful tan you gave me while I was there last weekend!  I appreciate you sparing me a sunburn this time!

Dear Eric, Good Luck in the 5K you are running tomorrow!  I am so sad I won't be able to come run it with you and eat pancakes afterward, but I know you'll do great and have a good time!

Dear Taste Buds, I did not realize how much I took you for granted until this week when I could not tell you were there due to my sinus issues.  You are starting to come back gradually and I can't wait until you are completely back and I can taste things again.

Dear Sinus Issues,   PLEASE GO AWAY AND NEVER EVER EVER COME BACK. K THNX.

Dear Softball Team, I am so sorry I missed that infield pop fly for the last out of the game. I promise next time I call a pop fly I WILL catch it.  I really wanted to bury my head in the infield after that one. I am just glad we had a 10 run lead at the time.

Dear Self, We're getting back on the workout train next week.  We fell off and were run over by the train the last couple with my busy schedule the last couple of weeks, but that ends now.

Dear Hawk and Peanut, I promise that I will be less busy after work next week and we will be able to go back to our nightly walks.

Bachelorette Weekend = Success!

I am still feeling a little under the weather.  This cold has now moved down into my chest, resulting in a revolting hacking cough....lovely right?  I've given up on sinus medicine and moved onto Robatussin.

Now onto what I've wanted to post all week but have not had the energy to......my FSIL's Bachelorette Weekend @ the Beach!  It was FABULOUS!  We packed up Friday afternoon and headed down to lovely Orange Beach for some fun in the sun.

I decided decorations were a must, so I made this adorable banner and made cups for all of us.  I decorated the table with a sobmrero and everything, but then I completely forgot to take any pics of my decorations. =( Photo FAIL, I know.  I did take a pic of the banner @ my house before I left thought....isn't it cute? My Cricut does amazing things!

It was about 9:30 by the time everyone arrived on Friday night. We did dinner @ a local seafood place called Tacky Jacks that is right on the bay.  It was a gorgeous night so we got to eat outside on the deck.

The group about to head out for dinner!

Bushwacker @ Tacky Jacks...so so good!
We called it a night when we got back because we had big plans for a marathon day at the beach on Saturday =) We decided we wanted to be at the beach before lunch so we could get a decent spot and soak up some primo sunshine.  After a quick trip to Publix for some sandwiches and beverages--just a few ;-) we headed to the beach! We decided that there was one good reason to have boys go with you to the beach....the cooler.  It took us a good 10 minutes to figure out how to pack our 3 coolers in the grocery store parking lot. We realized that we'd have to go about 100 yards down the beach to get a good spot on the beach so myself and one of the other bridesmaids hauled the cooler across the beach.  We were quite proud of the fact that we only had to stop twice.  That was until we got settled and the rest of the girls told us how the lifeguards were laughing at us the whole way....they could have at least offered to help!  LOL.

we HAD to have limes for the Corona's and Lime-a Ritas!

The cooler....it was much easier to carry on the way back!
We managed to spent a good 8 hours on the beach (with minimal sunburns thanks to some good ole SPF 60 that was generously reapplied several times).  We had the most perfect weather you could imagine. It was warm but there was a nice breeze that kept you from getting too hot. The water felt amazing, too!

We had a bit of excitement while we were floating around in the beautiful Gulf waters when a 4 foot long black fish swam up under us.  We freaked out and started swimming to the shore...we were maybe 20 yards out in the water.  Thankfully we had a fisherwoman with us in the Bachelorette who after the initial freak-out realized that our visitor was not a shark like we thought, but a Cobia.  A harmless fish that travels up and down the Gulf Coast close to shore.  We have fished for them several times in the past few years.  We felt a little better once we figured that out.   But out excitement was not over, a few hours later we were out in the water again and saw a smaller black square come over the surf in a big wave....it was a sting ray, one of 2 that we saw in the surf that day.  I don't know if they were swimming in on the big waves or what but it was sooo cool!  I wish I'd had an underwater camera to take some pics of them!

After a long day in the sun, we decided it was time for a photoshoot....on the beach, which was possible because we brought a tri-pod with us.  Yes a tri-pod. We set it up an proceeded to conduct our photoshoot. which I am sure entertained the entire beach.
FSILs!
We HAD to take a ridiculous number of jumping pictures so that we could get them just right, and what beach trip is complete without them?!

I modeled my new romper/beach cover up. Yes I always wear a visor and sunglasses when I go to the beach....I started getting sun spots on my forehead a few years ago and will not go to the river/lake/beach without them.

We had some fabulous outtakes.

And then had to show off our physiques a la Muscle Beach Poses.

Beach Day = SUCCESS!

Around 6 we realized we needed to go back to the house to shower, especially if we were going to have time to eat before we headed out on the town. We still ended up eating dinner @ 10PM, again at a place called Cosmo's.  The food was delish! But it was perfect timing because the 6th member of our crew had time to join us!

We ended our evening @ the FloraBama.  It is a fabulous little bar that straddles the Alabama and Florida state lines.  It was nearly blown away by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, but it's slowly been rebuilt and now it has 2 stages and countless decks and bars. It's right on the beach, too which means a nice breeze blows through it all night.

Yeah, we did.

Bachelorette weekend.....check!

And now T-Mo can get married!!!

My New BFF

This has been my new BFF for the past 48 hours.  Well not this box in particular, there were 3 others before it that are now empty.  Something bloomed down here this weekend and it is reeking havoc on my sinuses.  Like knocking  me on my behind, all I want to do is stay in bed havoc.  I am used to getting a little sniffly in the spring time, but this is a full on nose stopped up, can't breathe, eyes watering, can't hear anything, head feels like it's doubled in size and about to explode, sinuses going biserk. Fabulous, I know.  And of course it hits right in the middle of the busiest time of the year.  I have grants due @ work, a dance recital on Saturday, and softball starting this week.  Like I said, no time for sickness. Here's to hoping I get over this soon.
