A Little Bit about Us

The Mrs.

I am a product of the Midwest but have lived in the South for 2/3 of my life. I still don't quite consider myself a true southerner.  No sweet tea for this girl!
I love to play sports and tried just about all of them growing up.  The one I settled on was basketball. I played for 11 years, including 4 years in college, which was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who ever gets that opportunity.  I thought that I was done with basketball after I finished playing but I got an opportunity to help coach a high school team this past season and it was the most incredible experience and I can't wait for next season!  My other love growing up was dance.  I started taking tap classes when I was 5 and had to make the very difficult decision to give it up once I started high school to play basketball.  I have been fortunate to get involved with a local dance studio and have been teaching tap classes for the last 2 years, which I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever have the opportunity to do.
I am an avid crafter and an aspiring photographer [read completely amateur]. I love to cook with a good glass of wine and I love to coupon-any deal is a great deal to me!
I have an amazing family that I love dearly.  We are spread out all over the country, so we don't see each other all the time, but that's what makes the times we get together so special.

The Mr.

My other half is total Southern boy, born and raised in Alabama.  He is an outdoorsman in the truest sense of the word. He spends his weekends (and early mornings during the week sometimes) either on the lake fishing or in the woods with his bow looking for a big ole buck.  He is a former athlete as well, wrestling and football were/are his loves.  He played football at the same college I where played basketball  (where we met).  He has also had the opportunity to coach the past couple of years, which he loves. Aside from the lake and the woods, his favorite place is his shed working on his projects.  He is a fantastic cook, especially on the grill, which is a total bonus in my book!

The Boys

We have 2 fur babies: a chocolate lab named Hawk (a nod to the mascot at our Alma Mater) and a long-haired miniature dachshund named Peanut.  They are the sweetest puppy dogs in the whole world.  They love to play outside and swim in the pool during the summertime.
