Weekend Recap

Another weekend is in the books.  This weekend REALLY started to feel like fall.  I hope that this amazing weather sticks around for a while (like from now on).  All I could think today was that I really really wanted to go on a hike.  I may need to make that happen next weekend if Eric goes hunting. =)

We started off our weekend like every other fall weekend for the past 3 years....with a THS football game.  THe boys picked up right where they left off last Friday and routed their opponent 63-0.  We could have scored 100 if we wanted to, but we showed some class instead and took it easy on them.

The most entertaining part of the evening was the opposing team's band....they got down to say the least.

Saturday morning I headed to Montgomery for a luncheon and Eric went on an all day dove shoot. I made the best of my time all afternoon shopping, taking a nap, making some banana bread,  catching up on some reading, and going to church (gotta love Saturday PM mass).

Sunday I got to sleep in (sort of). Eric left early to golf and the puppies gave me about 30 mins of sleep after he left at 6:30am before they jumped on me. It ended up being a project day for me. I had some pinterest projects that I really wanted to tackle, plus a bit more baking I needed to get done.

~The door hanger banner I made.
~Super awesome spider I found in my garden this weekend. It's called a yellow micrathena spider. It looked half like a cartoon and half like some cheap spiky earrings from Claires.
~The rolo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies I made for work.....sooooo good.
~Home-made banana bread made with toasted pecan pieces.  My pants are getting tighter just looking at it.

Of course a beautiful weekend would not be complete without spending some time outside with the puppy dogs....all 4 of them.  Yep the puppies are still around. They earned a lot more respect from me this weekend.  Friday night our doorbell rang around 3am. (I did not hear it but Eric did).  Next thing I know, Hawk and Peanut are going nuts, Eric is jumping out of bed, grabbing his gun, and running to the back door.  I was still half asleep and blissfully unaware that there was anything going on.  Eric told me the next morning that when he got to the back door the puppies were going nuts barking, as were the 2 dogs in our next door neighbor's backyard. Eric said he thought he saw someone running through the backyards toward the road.  We have no idea who it was or why they would be ringing our doorbell that late, but whoever it was got scared out of their mind by the puppies.  It was probably some punk kids with nothing better to do on a Friday night, but they will certainly think twice before coming to the Cagles' house unannounced in the future.

They play like this ALL DAY LONG.  Don't mess with little Miss Cricket and Mr. Hollow boy!
