The other good thing about this Monday in particular is one day closer to the start of football season! I got just a taste this past Friday at the intra-squad scrimmage fundraiser and I am soooooo ready for it to start for real!

Eric left from the game to go on a boy's camping weekend in GA so I was left to my own devices which mean my Friday night after I got home looked a lot like this.

Saturday I had a date with my flowerbeds. Mom helped me fix up my beds last week when she was here so there was not a whole lot to do. I planted a few more flowers and then I mulched all the way around the house. Well I started it....since I only had my car I could only get 7 bags of mulch and had to go back on Sunday to get the rest. And now my garden looks beautiful!
I can't wait for everything to get growing! I have tons of pretty new plants that I think are going to like their new home!
These were my helpers while I was working outside. They tolerated the heat while I was mulching but enjoyed their pool time afterward....this girl was hot and tired so the pool was my #1 priority.

And just for fun....can you guess what this is???
That would be the beginnings of my pork chop marinade....olive oil, soy sauce, and red wine vinegar. I thought it looked like something from outer space....I'm cool like that. It was pretty good, too. I used this recipe that was technically meant for a pork tenderloin, but did 2 lbs of pork chops instead. It was pretty tasty, too!
It's the official back-to-school day here in Alabama (and the day that always makes me feel better my decision NOT to go into teaching); so to all my teacher friends....good luck! Only 179 days left til summer vacation!
