We are the Champions!

We did it!  Our softball team won our tournament last night to finish up the season a perfect 12-0!  We had to play 2 games last night to win the tournament and we won both games in pretty convincing fashion.  The first game we run-ruled the team we were playing in the 4th inning so they called the game. The championship game was a rematch against the team that we beat last week to clinch the regular season title.  Apparently they had been talking junk on facebook all week.....and then we run ruled them in 4 innings.  They were pretty pumped for a rematch and it was not a walk in the park (no pun intended).  We ended up with several strawberries, a sore foot, a couple of sore hammies, a jammed finger (mine), and several bumps and bruises, but we played HARD! It was a pretty close game in the first 2 innings, but we had a couple of 3-up 3-down innings in the field and got on a hitting streak and pulled out a 16-6 victory!

We only have a few days to enjoy the wins because we are playing in a 12 team tournament this weekend.  We've got a few of the better teams from our church league, plus several teams from around the state who are coming to town.  It should be some really good competition.  We played in the tournament last year and came in second.  It was a long day of softball, but we're ready for it again!
